It was sad to have come across counter-views expressed by Mr. Prakash Karat in his speech on Chinese front. Without realizing the need of the hour, he should not have flagged statements about Chinese occupation of Tibet by other eminent persons as futile or a potent threat to India-China relations.
One needs to realize that 'Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence!!!'
China applauded India for showing greater concern in holding Tibetans back and restraining them in every manner possible, but is the Country, in itself worthy enough to get what it anticipates. Going by the history of China, it has been a very systematic violator of human rights since an eternity and has been ranked amongst the top 10 nations of the world on worst Human Rights policies in the world. The Chinese government continues to suppress dissenting opinions and maintains political control over the legal system, resulting in an arbitrary and sometimes abusive judicial regime. There is no room availability for an individual to express what he/she feels, to practice religion of choice and freedom of expression. The kind of society nourished in China comprises of a dependent media whose content is scrutinized and censored by the People' Party before finally reaching to the masses. Moreover, the content is made refined, making it 80% positive and remaining 20% negative. Hence, China can go to an extent of projecting the unreal, the false and belied developments and growth.
Isn't the whole idea of Tibet being a part of China a clever move by China to project what it admires to be!!! What is alarming to note is the support given to China policies by people of a county, which in every true sense is secular and democratic in nature. India, under the fatherhood of Mahatma Gandhi has built strong foundation to the pillars of non-violence, camaraderie and equality. What distinguishes freedom struggle in J & K from Tibet is the sovereignty of a country. J & K issue has been a point of contention for it being a prodigy between two nations that split into two. It is not about a revolt raised by people in exile, but a distress in local environment. It is a sorry state for Prakash Karat to compare Tibet freedom with Nagaland and J & K freedom. When it is not possible to compare China & India on all fronts, quoting comparisons of undue relevance should be strictly refrained from!!! Moreover, being a political face, one should realize the statements made to express concern without compromising on emotions that drives a nation's policies, after all, for a long time, the scenic heaven on earth have been in turmoil.
Considering Chinese occupation on border interface with India along Line of Actual Control (LAC), it is high time our Government realize Chinese' vested interests and protect India before protecting anything else. China has been building around border-bridges and huge arsenal deployment activity in absence of any checks by Indian government. Aren't these developments any threat to India from China according to Prakash Karat and politburo??? Isn't the number of human rights violations in China every year a threat to all other nations of a growing monster?? It is litmus test for the Indian government to understand the dynamics of an accelerating economy making a nosedive and facing global issues to come out clean and victorious. Rather than being played as a dancing puppet in hands of CPI n CPM politburo, the government should take steps what INDIA in democratic spirits should have prolonged for an eternity. Congress can still remain in power and drive the nation, if they remain in mindset of every individual walking down the street.
Left parties should realize that by arm twisting Congress, it will not win them the support from people, what it would win is double standards, an unbiased hatred and distrust in the society and local pressure. When Left do not object to China profligate its nuclear arsenal , then why does it objects when India wants to sign a nuclear deal with US? When Left is undeterred of human executions in China on gigantic scale, then why does it object to human non-violence in India by Tibetans as a part of fight for an autonomous state?? When Left remains silent about Chinese occupation along LAC, then why does it go wary for Tibetans infiltration into Lhasa & Chinese Embassy to fight for their birth cause?? When Left agree to Chinese exploitation of labor forces, then why do the trade unions (Leftists) object to harmony and autonomy of IT industry work-force??
Before Left parties can decide about the future if India, there are pertinent questions that needs to be answered in honest, secular, democratic and human sense. Sitting and arm twisting would help in curbing policies and advancements ,but drastically would give birth to roots of despotic, unethical and inhuman system, which would clamor to achieve prosperity for the nation devoid of any humans.
